We are accepting new admissions but have implemented additional pre-screening procedures to ensure the health and safety of everyone at Willingway. **At this time, all family visitation has been suspended until further notice.**
Willingway is closely monitoring all coronavirus (COVID-19) updates and is following suggested best practices from the CDC to prevent the spread of the virus. For more information, please click here.
Based upon clinical research and many years of extensive experience, Willingway’s approach to treatment is based on the belief that substance abuse is a primary illness and is a disease that affects the entire family system. This philosophy is based on four concepts:
The full causes of alcoholism and drug addiction are unknown
Alcoholism and drug addiction are, at least in part, chemical illnesses
There is a relationship between alcoholism and addiction to other drugs
Alcoholism and drug addiction are diseases of the total person (body, emotions, mind and soul)
Willingway’s established practice is to strive for a chemically-free baseline from which an accurate assessment and diagnosis can be made. Treatment plans are customized to individual patients using the extensive addiction treatment resources Willingway offers patients and their families.
Our physicians maintain a healthy respect for the significance of psychiatric illness and the reality of co-occurring disorders. As a substance abuse treatment facility, the proficiency with which we diagnose and treat addicts and alcoholics allows us to work with experts in the field of psychiatry and refer dually diagnosed patients with a higher acuity level to these professionals.
