Addiction Treatment in Georgia

You’re at a pivotable point in your life right now: researching how to get help for you or a loved one for substance use disorder (SUD) or alcohol use disorder (AUD). Please take a moment to learn why Willingway could be exactly what you’re looking for in treatment services.

A Family Intention of Hope and Recovery

Our addiction recovery center near Savannah was founded by Dr. John and Dot Mooney in 1971. As a surgeon and a nurse who once struggled with addiction, they regained their sobriety and set about helping others to do the same, turning their own home into a multifaceted treatment center for adults with AUD and SUD. All these years later, we’re still a private, family-operated facility located on a beautiful 11-acre wooded campus in the Georgia countryside.

In 2020, we opened The Pines at Willingway, a comprehensive treatment program that provides detoxification, partial hospitalization, and residential treatment services for adolescents ages 14-18 dealing with SUD and AUD.

The foundation of our treatment philosophy is that AUD and SUD are illnesses that impact the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Additionally, they affect the whole family. So in both our adult and teen programs, family members are invited to educational sessions to learn more about the disease of addiction and their role in ongoing recovery. The individual resources, constraints, and socioeconomic factors of each client and family are taken into consideration when a plan for treatment and continuing care is being developed.

We Offer a Full Continuum of Care

Accredited by the Joint Commission continuously since 1974, Willingway has been licensed as a specialty hospital in the field of addiction medicine. Our medical and clinical team is also able to treat individuals who are suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, mood disorders, and other general emotional problems. However, Willingway isn’t able to treat individuals experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms that require immediate treatment or hospitalization.

Our primary mission is to improve the lives we touch. We offer:

Willingway’s medical staff can safely treat people who experience addiction to all combinations and amounts of mood-altering chemicals, including alcohol, street drugs, prescription drugs, methadone, and others. We also provide:

  • Extensive therapy services
  • Trauma-informed support during your stay and trusted resources for aftercare
  • Access to various 12-Step and other mutual aid support groups
  • Gender-specific issue groups
  • Spirituality and other forms of self-care

We have a high ratio of staff members to clients, with a significant percentage of staff currently in recovery. This means we not only have the right level of resources to provide the best chances of success in recovery but also that our staff members understand every client’s unique issues. We’re also proud that many people on our team have been with Willingway for decades.

Additionally, our environment is designed to make you feel welcome, respected, and cared for. Each resident has a private room and bath, featuring a double bed, a desk, and individual temperature controls for your comfort. We serve three healthy home-cooked meals each day, and a 24-hour snack bar is a wonderful place for residents to gather together socially. Our lovely campus provides a variety of outdoor recreation options, and we have a pool and gym equipment available as well. Take a tour of our beautiful, restorative treatment center
